‘Focused’ Wenger leaves door ajar on England job
Arsene Wenger has reiterated intention to make decision on his future at the end of the season, but he has left the door open on the England job.
Wenger, who was presented with a vase by Sir Chips Keswick to honour his 20 years at Arsenal, was asked about his plans for the future amid talk he has been mentioned to succeed Sam Allardyce as the head coach of the Three Lions.
“My priority is to do well here this has always been my club but one day if I am free, why not, but at the moment I was focused on my job,” said Wenger.
Wenger handed out notebooks to journalists at his press conference to celebrate his 20 years at the club and joked: “This is only to write nice things about the club.
“It’s certainly unusual in the modern world,” said Wenger.
“I think stability is very important as well in a company and the values, people who carry the values.

“For me a big club is first about values and its identity and the privilege I have to carry these values is very unusual in the modern game.”
Asked who had helped him the most in his time with the Gunners, he replied: “The Board, to stick by me.
“I believe this club is brave. We have shown for years that we can have a good togetherness at the club. We keep our feet on the ground and fight together.”
