Arsene Wenger admits he would love to claim the record as the most successful manager in the history of the FA Cup – but insists there is still a long way to go.
Success in this year’s competition would not only make it a hat-trick of wins for the Gunners, it would also be Wenger’s seventh success in the competition, where alongside George Ramsey, he sits on six triumphs.
But Wenger, whose side saw off Burnley 2-1 on Saturday to reach the last 16, said: “First of all we have only passed two rounds so there is a long way to go when you look at everybody still in there.
“We would love to do it but it is a long way to go. We are still in three competitions so we try to get a team out that has a chance to pass the round.”
