West Brom have appointed Nick Hammond as the club’s new technical director.
They have reached agreement with Hammond and Reading, where the 48-year-old has been director of football since 2003, for a switch to The Hawthorns.
Hammond, a former goalkeeper who played for Arsenal, Swindon Town, Plymouth and Reading, went into coaching and was appointed Reading’s Youth Academy Director in 2000.
After three years he was made director of football and helped oversee the Royals’ promotion to the Premier League in 2006 and 2012.
The Baggies have been looking for a new technical director since Terry Burton left in June last year.
