West Brom name price for Evans as Man City line up new bid
West Bromwich Albion have reportedly told Manchester City they must pay £35m if they wish to sign defender Jonny Evans.
According to the Daily Mail, City are set to return with a new offer of around £25m for the 29-year-old over the weekend.
However, The Sun are claiming that West Brom will only consider selling the Northern Ireland star for £10m more than City’s new offer.
Pep Guardiola’s side have reportedly already had a £18m bid rejected by the Baggies for the Northern Ireland international.
The defender missed the first game of the season due to a hamstring injury and is likely to be unavailable for the Baggies’ trip to Burney.
Hawthorns boss Tony Pulis confirmed: “Jonny felt his hamstring in training on Friday and we didn’t want to take a chance.
“He went in to see the doctor at the training ground and came to the ground and told me on Saturday it was sore. So we take his word for it.”
Guardiola knows that he must offload Eliaquim Mangala in order to fund the move, with Inter Milan reportedly interested.
