West Ham co-owner David Gold has insisted he’s unmoved by reports linking Manuel Lanzini with Liverpool, or any other club, after repeating his claim they have ‘first option’ for the Argentine.
The 22-year-old, who admitted recently he was flattered to be linked to Jurgen Klopp’s side, has impressed for the Hammers since arriving on loan from Al-Jazira, scoring four goals in 12 Premier League appearances so far this season.
But Gold has moved to play down suggestions that West Ham could miss out on the talented forward, insisting that they have first refusal on the player.
“We have a first option to sign Manuel. There’s no concern,” he told the London Evening Standard. “He has been exceptional for us.”
“We like him and if he carries on like this he will be one hell of a player.”
