James Rodriguez: Not leaving Real on loan

West Ham are reportedly ready to launch a massive €80m bid for Real Madrid superstar James Rodriguez, beating Chelsea and Man United to his signature.

The Colombian international is a Champions League winner with Real Madrid, but he has often found himself out of favour at the Bernabeu with Rafael Benitez and Zinedane Zidane opting to bench the 25-year-old quite frequently.

According to Marca, the latter is willing to cash-in on Rodriguez due to questions over his ‘mental and psychological commitment’, and the Hammers have been linked with a sensational swoop as a result.

The Express add that Rodriguez is supposedly open to a move to the Premier League this summer, especially if the transfer would guarantee him more first-team football.

I like the way west ham played last year and i love a team who shows ambition but does anyone else feel like they waste a lot of their time going after tranfer targets that will never happen (based on transfer speculation of course). Bacca, Gomez, La Cazette, James Rodriguez, Batshuayi, Walcott Nolito, and others. These are all CL players who will join big CL teams (or chelsea because of their money) Everyone loves to see a “marquee” signing but would it not be better to spend time and resources on players who may actually come?

We all know the chairman at Westham like to ‘talk’ and love the limelight. It wouldnt surprise me if they know they have no chance of signing these players, have no intention of signing these players but just love to enjoy the headlines !!

Spot on there NOLU. The chairman have all the talk, bowling it down the road, thinking they’re “one of the people” but still look like crooks in regards to the Olympic Stadium acquisition by taxpayers money. They wanted a ‘marquee’ signing for new season, a statement of intent of a new era… Carlton Cole is available again. A move realistic signing methinks when they can’t even chuck money at players to entice them to the club. Even the big Euro clubs are put off by the price tag of Payet, a sublime but extremely inconsistent 30 year old, on well over £100k a week, who is actually worth £40 million at a premium.
