West Ham star Dimitri Payet has emerged as a shock target for Spanish side Valencia, according to reports.
Spanish media outlet Fichajes report that Payet is a target for Valencia, with the Hammers valuing their prized asset at £48.5million.
Payet signed for Slaven Bilic’s side last summer in a £10.75 million move from Marseille, and the 29-year-old has emerged as one of the Premier League’s finest talents in his first year in English football.
The West Ham favourite has scored a range of stunning goals, his latest an unbelievable dipping free-kick in the 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace at the Boleyn Ground.
Now, according to reports in Europe, Payet is wanted by Valencia, who are looking to rebuild after sacking former Manchester United and England defender Gary Neville.
Former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has been linked with the managerial job at the Spanish side, but he is widely expected to take over at Old Trafford.
