Jurgen Klopp: Will keep Daniel Sturridge

Jurgen Klopp will reportedly allow only one player to leave Liverpool in January – and it will not be West Ham target Daniel Sturridge.

According to the Daily Mirror, West Ham are desperate to add an established Premier League goalscorer to their squad in order to kick-start their dismal season but any approach made for Sturridge will be turned down.

The England striker has found first-team opportunities hard to come by this season and a minor injury has further stalled his progress. However, with Sadio Mane set for African Cup of Nations duty, Philippe Coutinho out for at least a month and Danny Ings sidelined for the rest of the campaign, Klopp is hoping he can turn to Sturridge for the demanding winter schedule.

Klopp is unlikely to make drastic changes to his Liverpool squad and is apparently only willing to allow the ostracised Mamadou Sakho to join a new club when the transfer window re-opens.
