Wilcox was impressed by the duo’s performances during the club’s return to pre-season training on Thursday, with both players the last men standing from their respective bleep test groups.
McCoy and Ilesanmi, along with Lindon Meikle and Jason Mooney, remain free to leave Bootham Crescent but Wilcox admitted that the physical condition of the players caught his eye as the squad were put through their paces.
“Just because Marvin and Femi are on the list, it doesn’t mean their York City careers are over and, if they show me that type of attitude and application, then they will be back in the squad and, who knows in football, things change daily,” Wilcox told the York Press.
“I was pleased with those two and delighted with the whole group as well.
“I’m delighted with how the players have come back. They’re in tip-top condition and ready to go, which gives us the chance to put a plan together for pre-season. You always have your ideas but, unless the lads are at a certain level, you can’t carry them out.
“We know we can do now and put together a structure for July 1, aimed at getting the lads as fit as possible. Some of the results of the test were outstanding and they were all very positive.”
