Jack Wilshere is confident he can fight his way back into Arsenal’s Premier League plans, even though his contract runs out in six months time.
The midfielder was again brought off the bench by Arsene Wenger on Sunday as the Gunners ground out a 1-1 draw at Southampton and the player insists he remains focused on turning his Gunners career around.
However, with his contract due to expire in the summer, Wilshere insists he isn’t giving any thought to leaving, saying his focus is on influencing Arsenal’s results in the best way he can.
“Nothing else goes through your head when you’re playing, except who you are playing against and what you can do to affect the game,” he said. “If I’m on the bench in a Premier League game, I’m thinking, ‘What can I do coming off the bench?’
