Highly-rated Wolves defender Dominic Iorfa has not decided to make a move to West Ham, according to his father.
Reports attributed to “family sources” this week claimed the 20-year-old had made his mind up on signing for the Hammers, but Dominic Iorfa Snr has refuted those claims and says the player has not yet made a decision on his future.
“It’s a lie and I wonder where that came from,” Iorfa said in a statement made available to Goal by his publicist Ojeikere Aikhoje.
“Although he is wanted by several Premier League clubs, the final decision is a subject for his representatives and the club.
“As a professional footballer, he cannot be selective. Moreover, he is happy at Wolves and has an excellent working relationship with the club.”
Iorfa jnr emerged as Wolves’ Best Young Professional for the second year running after making 46 appearances in all competitions last season and he has been linked with Crystal Palace, Arsenal, Southampton and the Hammers.
He was also very influential as the England U21s won the Toulon Tournament in France recently and Kenny Jackett is desperate to keep hold of the player who is rated in the £7million bracket.
Iorfa signed a three-and-a-half year contract in November 2015 to tie him to the Molineux club until 2019, but the interest in him is set to intensify over the summer.
