Yeovil v Port Vale preview

admin

Yeovil will be boosted by the return of their captain for the Huish Park clash against Port Vale.

Midfielder Joe Edwards has been sidelined with an ankle injury since mid-March but is back in training and could make his first appearance under Paul Sturrock on Saturday when they welcome the Valiants.

Sturrock, yet to taste defeat since taking charge of the already-relegated Glovers, does remain without long-term injury absentees Adam Morgan, Simon Gillett and Kevin Dawson once more.

The Scot could name an unchanged line-up from the one that ran out shock 1-0 winners at Swindon.

Port Vale manager Rob Page has selection dilemmas at both end of the pitch as he looks to get the win that would guarantee the club’s League One survival.

Page must decide whether to start with Tom Pope in place of Achille Campion, or use him as an impact substitute as the 11-goal top scorer continues to recover from an ankle injury.

Meanwhile, Richard Duffy must serve a one-match suspension following his red card against Preston last Friday. In his absence, Chris Robertson could return to partner Neill Collins in central defence, or Page could move Freddie Veseli from right-back to the centre and recall full-back Adam Yates.

Winger Byron Moore will not return from his groin injury before the end of the season.
