Rooney and Young: Shunning China interest

Ashley Young has followed his captain Wayne Rooney and vowed to reject a move to China to focus on his Manchester United career.

The former England winger has been a peripheral figure at Old Trafford in recent times, but has impressed when given rare opportunities in the first team.

And he says he is determined to see out his contract at Man Utd rather than accepting the reported riches on offer from the Chinese Super League, insisting: “I am concentrating on my football.

“I am here at United for the rest of the season and another year, so I am concentrating on everything here

“I am a player who wants to play week in, week out. Every player in the squad wants to play.

“Whenever called upon, I have just got to go out there, 110 per cent, and play as well as I can.

“The manager said I was man of the match at Blackburn and it was nice to get a compliment. I am just one of the players who wants to get back on the training pitch, go again and look forward to the next.”
