Your Says of the Day: Drop Zlatan, Chicharito for Reds

Zlatan Ibrahimovic: Not rated by some United fans

Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s “overall game is very poor”, apparently, while Tottenham and Chelsea fans also have concerns about their strikers.

Drop Zlatan

He missed good goalscoring chance at Liverpool and against City. His overall game is very poor. It’s time to drop him and play Rashford upfront. I would like to see Jose play this team in 4-3-3

De Gea; Valencia, Bailly, Smalling, Shaw; Herrera, Blind, Pogba; Mkhitaryan, Rashford, Martial.

Campbell: It’s my destiny to manage a top club, then England

Great player in his day but deluded beyond belief. He never came across like that during his playing days. Is it years of being pandered too and pampered that distorts these people’s reality? I thought he was gonna be the next Prime Minister or Mayor of London. Now he’s gonna settle for a top European managerial position?

Chicharito a ‘perfect fit’ for Liverpool

Someone mentioned the other day about how Sturridge isn’t a perfect fit in this side and to some extent I agree. He doesn’t seem to be the type of player to really press the ball. What he can do is cause a lot of problems with his pace, skills and movement.

We’d be hard pressed to find a striker who can effectively press opponents and yet, still have terrific ability. That would be a Suarez/Lewandowski type player and how often do those come along?

I think we can be very satisfied with what we have right now. Given the fact that Sturridge, supposedly our best striker, hasn’t hit the back of the net in the league yet, it says a lot that we’re still banging them in. If we are looking to sign another forward, I think Javier Hernandez would be a ‘perfect’ fit, but that’s just me.

Javier Hernandez: Transfer target for Spanish giants

Janssen concern

So when is he going to score in open play? I had really high expectations for him and thought he’d have been firing by now. The red flag for me, is when he couldn’t score against Gillingham , and looks no closer to scoring now.

If he doesn’t hit the back of the net in the next couple of games, then maybe they should bring in one of the younger players from the under 23 squad; maybe Shayon Harrison, who, lets face it, couldn’t do any worse. How this would affect VJ’s mentality would be interesting; it would either crush him, or make him step up.

So, subject to Janssen playing, when do you think he’ll get his first goal in open play?

Michy Batshuayi: Linked with Chelsea exit already

Use of Batshuayi

Bit concerned over his lack of minutes. He has looked a real handful when given the game time and whilst it is harsh (madness) to displace Costa in this type of form, there have been occasions where I would have expected Conte to act sooner and give minutes to his (‘his’) new £33m signing. He does seem to like a late sub.

Last Saturday for instance, glad he didn’t in the end as we saw three academy products, of which I’m a big advocate and of course Chalobah getting an assist – however I could understand frustration on Batshuayi’s part and indeed in other games when his cameos have been so influential. Perhaps he thought Costa would already be suspended by now!

Definitely like to see him against United from the bench as Costa, however in form he might be, will struggle versus Bailly and Smalling with Fellaini sitting.
