Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the best players in the world because of “hard training” and not his “natural” ability, according to Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The Swede thinks the Brazilian Ronaldo, on the other hand, was “born to be what he was” and deserves to be remembered as “the best”.
Cristiano Ronaldo has won the Champions League three times and is Real’s all-time top goalscorer and Brazilian Ronaldo had an equally spectacular career winning the World Cup and numerous titles with clubs such as Inter Milan, Barcelona and Real Madrid.
However, Ibrahimovic rates the former Brazil international as better than the Ronaldo of today.
“I think Ronaldo, Il Fenomeno, was the best,” he told ESPN Brasil.
“He was an example of what football is. Everything he did was like ‘wow’. The way he dribbled, the way he ran.
“Ronaldo was natural, he was born to be what he was. It was not something he trained to become. This type of player is not made, he is born. He is unique.”
On Cristiano Ronaldo, Ibrahimovic added: “It is different because he is the result of hard training. It is not natural.”
