Jose Mourinho has confirmed Zlatan Ibrahimovic will start for Manchester United in Thursday’s Europa League clash against FC Rostov, while Daley Blind also looks set for a recall.
The powerful Swede has already been pencilled in to start for United in Russia ahead of a three-match domestic ban; served by the FA after the striker chose not to contest a violent conduct charge for elbowing Bournemouth’s Tyrone Mings.
Ibrahimovic will miss Monday’s FA Cup quarter-final at Chelsea as well as Premier League games against Middlesbrough and West Brom.
He will only play in the return leg at Old Trafford in the next month before returning against Everton on April 4.
Ahead of the clash, Mourinho refused to discuss the FA ban for the Mings incident.
“No reaction, he plays tomorrow,” he said.
“I don’t comment about the domestic decision.”
Daley Blind also looks set to feature against Rostov after taking part in the pre-match press conference alongside his manager.
Wayne Rooney, Luke Shaw and Bastian Schweinsteiger have not travelled to Russia and will miss out.
Rooney and Shaw both started Saturday’s Premier League match against Bournemouth but have been rested for the trip east, while Schweinsteiger is recovering from an unspecified knock.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan has returned to the squad after a hamstring injury, but defender Eric Bailly misses the last-16 first leg through suspension.
