Manager Martin Allen felt Notts County deserved all three points after they battled back to draw 1-1 against MK Dons at Meadow Lane.

A late Jeff Hughes penalty, after Dons defender Adam Smith was adjudged to have handled in the box, gave the Magpies a share of the spoils after Tom Flanagan had spectacularly put the visitors ahead in the first half.

Allen said there was no doubt his team deserved the win after County were thwarted for much of the second half by an impressive display from Dons goalkeeper David Martin.

He said: "I'm really pleased - it was a really good performance. I was disappointed to concede that goal from a corner kick, but apart from that we restricted them to very few chances.

"Their goalkeeper made some fantastic saves and Lee Hughes was so unlucky on a few occasions.

"I think the supporters definitely got value for money and we certainly deserved to win - there is no doubt about that."
