Team news for Tuesday night's League One clash between Notts County and Preston at Meadow Lane Stadium.

Alan Sheehan will come back into the reckoning for Martin Allen's side.

Sheehan has completed a two-match suspension after collecting his 10th yellow card of the season during the FA Cup victory at Doncaster.

The Irishman's return to contention is good news for boss Allen who could still be short of defensive options with Julian Kelly (calf), Sam Sodje (hamstring), Jude Stirling (knee) and Stephen Hunt (ankle) all nursing injuries.

Centre-half Krystian Pearce and midfielder Gavin Mahon returned from injury lay-offs to start against MK Dons on Saturday and are not thought to have suffered any ill effects.

Midfielder Ishmel Demontagnac and strikers Karl Hawley and Ben Burgess are among those players pushing for recalls at Meadow Lane.

Meanwhile, Danny Mayor is a fitness doubt ahead of Preston's trip.

Mayor was a late withdrawal from manager Graham Westley's first game at the helm against Leyton Orient on Saturday due to illness and the midfielder's symptoms persisted throughout the weekend.

Barry Nicholson is pushing for a start having featured as a first-half substitute in the the 2-0 defeat to Orient, although fellow midfielder Ian Ashbee remains in the treatment room with a swollen knee.

Strike duo Neil Mellor (knee) and Iain Hume (hamstring) remain long-term absentees, meaning on-loan Manchester City forward Harry Bunn will be eying a place in the squad.

Bunn scored on his debut when North End beat Wycombe 3-2 at Deepdale but suffered a knock while playing for the reserves last week and, although he resumed training on Friday, missed out on Westley's first matchday 16.

Steven Smith returns from suspension after his sending off against Wycombe, although on-loan Bristol City man Jamie McAllister is expected to retain his place at left-back following his debut on Saturday.
