Notts County manager Keith Curle was proud of his side after they beat Colchester 2-0 to continue their fine away form.

First-half goals from Neal Bishop and Alan Judge gave the Magpies their fifth away win of the season and lifted them up to fifth in League One.

Curle said: "The away record is something we're very proud of. It's built on a desire to work hard and defend our goal and also attacking when we earn the right to play.

"We needed to work hard for our win because Colchester asked us a lot of questions. We kept going right until the end and we kept probing, but we also needed that resilience and willingness to see the game out.

"Goals change games and the timing of our goals helped us. The first goal gave us a foothold and something to build on and then scoring just before half-time was just what we needed.

"It forced Colchester to change their style of play and we needed to be professional right until the end. Colchester is a difficult place to come and play and they try and play the game in the right way, but on the night things went our way."
