Struggling Leyton Orient will check on Dean Cox and Andrea Dossena ahead of the visit of Oldham.

Winger Cox came off with a thigh problem during the second half of Wednesday night’s 2-0 home defeat by Bradford, a match full-back Dossena missed through illness.

Defender Scott Cuthbert and strikers Darius Henderson and Gianvito Plasmati have been struggling with knocks lately while long-term absentees, goalkeeper Adam Legzdins, midfielder Lloyd James and winger Jay Simpson, are still out.

Back-up keeper Gary Woods missed out in midweek with a slight ankle injury and could return to the bench but midfielder John Lundstram, who has not figured of late, has gone back to Everton as his loan spell ended after Wednesday’s game.

Oldham could be without midfielder Carl Winchester.

The recent Northern Ireland call-up has been plagued by a hamstring injury of late and despite coming on against Colchester last Saturday, he has missed some time training this week.

Striker Conor Wilkinson, also troubled by a hamstring complaint, is back running but is still a little way off featuring on a match day.

Latics are considering whether to send club captain Adam Lockwood (foot) on loan with several clubs interested, but Amari Morgan-Smith (hamstring) is another absentee.

Leyton Orient will be without Romain Vincelot through suspension when they host Oldham.

The combative midfielder collected his 10th booking of the season during Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Walsall and starts a two-match ban, so Marvin Bartley or Jamie Ness will step in.

Kevin Lisbie may return in attack after dropping to the bench at the weekend while fellow striker Shaun Batt will be checked over after a late injury saw him replaced in the squad by Yohann Lasimant.

Goalkeeper Jamie Jones made a welcome return on the bench after three months out with a back injury and should be involved again.

Oldham will be without on-loan midfielder Joel Byrom at promotion-chasing Leyton Orient.

The 27-year-old has had to go back to parent club Preston after pulling his hamstring, which forced him to miss Saturday’s crucial win over Stevenage, but boss Lee Johnson is hopeful he can still return to Boundary Park for the season’s final few matches.

Captain Korey Smith played 90 minutes at the weekend and his knee problem needs to be managed while David Worrall, who started against Stevenage, needs similar conditioning work following a long-term groin injury.

Centre-back Genseric Kusunga has had a minor operation which is unrelated to his thigh injury and should be back training within the next 10 days. Midfielder Anton Rodgers also remains out with a knee problem.

Leyton Orient are hoping Charlie MacDonald will be fit.

MacDonald missed last weekend’s 1-0 win at Coventry with a knee injury but was due to have an injection this week in a bid to be fit for the final game of the season.

Fellow striker David Mooney is set to miss out again with an ankle injury while boss Russell Slade is also short in defence with Scott Cuthbert (metatarsal), Mathieu Baudry (hip) and Elliot Omozusi (shoulder) still sidelined.

Slade could only name four substitutes at Coventry and they included 18-year-olds De’Reece Vanderhyde and Harry Lee.

Defender Vanderhyde and midfielder Lee this week signed their first professional contracts at the club and could make their first-team debuts.

Oldham remain without Matt Smith and Lee Barnard.

The forward pair both picked up injuries in the win against Crawley last weekend that secured the Latics’ League One status for another season.

Smith was forced off with an Achilles problem while Barnard suffered a hip injury and neither will recover in time for the final game of the campaign.

In the duo’s absence, Lee Johnson’s side fired a blank against Shrewsbury in midweek and also lost midfielder Jonathan Grounds to a neck complaint.

Grounds is rated 50-50 as Oldham look to end their campaign with a fourth win in five games.

Leyton Orient will be without Scott Cuthbert when they face Oldham.

The defender was sent off during Tuesday night’s 3-1 defeat by Bournemouth and starts a three-match ban.

Elliot Omozusi, fit again after a calf problem, is likely to earn a recall to the back four in Cuthbert’s absence.

Skipper Stephen Dawson (ankle) and striker Jamie Cureton (groin) missed out in midweek and remain doubtful while striker Jonathan Tehoue is still on the sidelines with an arm injury.

Tottenham loanee Ben Alnwick stays in goal after shoulder injuries accounted for first-choice Jamie Jones and his replacement David Button.

The O’s remain bottom of the table and are still searching for their first win of the season.

Meanwhile, Oldham boss Paul Dickov is boosted by the return of winger Filipe Morais and defender Zander Diamond.

Both men missed the midweek win at Walsall through knee injuries but Bradley Diallo serves the final game of his three-match ban and a number of other players may remain sidelined due to injury.

Dean Furman, Josh Parker and Paul Black all missed the 1-0 win at Walsall in midweek, a result and performance which left Dickov in buoyant mood.

He said: “We were without five players who were possible starters and as much as I said I wanted a smaller squad, and it’s being tested at the minute, I think it’s got quality in it.

“When those players come back, they’ll find it hard to get back in if the boys play like they did on Tuesday night.”

Leyton Orient manager Russell Slade has an injury doubt over Alex Revell for the game.

The former Brighton and Southend striker limped out of Tuesday night’s 2-0 win over Walsall in the 50th minute and will undergo a late fitness test.

Jonathan Tehoue, who scored just five minutes after replacing Revell against the Saddlers, is on standby to deputise should Revell fail to recover in time.

Midfielder Jimmy Smith remains a major doubt with the hamstring problem that has kept him out of the last three games, while defender Ben Chorley could also miss out again with an ongoing knee problem.

Elliot Omozusi will continue to deputise for the latter as the O’s look to extend their 12-game unbeaten run.

Oldham boss Paul Dickov will assess the fitness of midfielder Dean Furman ahead of the trip.

Furman had missed two matches through suspension and was due back in midweek for the home clash against Sheffield Wednesday before being ruled out through illness.

He only has a slight chance of returning at Orient and the virus that has swept through the club in recent weeks is also affecting striker Reuben Reid.

He has been feeling unwell and may also be missing as the Latics bid to reignite their faltering play-off bid.

Dickov’s men have not won in eight games, although they ended a six-match goal drought in midweek with Filipe Morais’ strike against Wednesday, who won the match 3-2.
