Morgan-Smith earns Oldham draw

Oldham had taken the lead in the 23rd minute when James Dayton received a pass from Joseph Mills and lashed an unstoppable left-footed strike into the top right corner from 30 yards out.

But the visitors’ advantage lasted only four minutes. Jonathan Obika hoisted Swindon level when he bundled the ball over the line following a goalmouth scramble from a corner.

Swindon should have taken an early lead when Brad Smith side-footed Nathan Byrne’s pull back wide from inside the area in the fifth minute.

And the lively Byrne was the creator again when Swindon took the lead, threading a pass into substitute Andy Williams, who unleashed a fierce drive into the top right-hand corner in the 80th minute.

But like Oldham in the first half, the lead lasted only four minutes as substitute Morgan-Smith prodded Oldham level to earn Lee Johnson’s side a share of the spoils.
