Lloris: Likely to stay with Lyon

Regional Paper Talk: Lloris staying put

Spurs target Hugo Lloris is likely to remain with French outfit Lyon, while Steven Nzonzi may still have a future with Blackburn Rovers.

  • Ricardo Carvalho is on his way back to the capital and is set to join QPR on a season's loan from Real Madrid. QPR manager Mark Hughes has moved quickly to strengthen his backline following the humiliating 5-0 home defeat to Swansea on the opening day of the season and is also expected to complete the £9million signing of Tottenham and England defender Michael Dawson.
  • Lyon goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is likely to remain with the Ligue 1 club rather than move to Tottenham, according to Bernard Lacombe, who serves as special advisor to OL president Jean-Michel Aulas.
  • Charlton manager Chris Powell believes his side's unbeaten start to the season and the signing of Jamaica international Ricardo Fuller will fire a warning to the rest of the Championship.

  • Scott Sinclair is on the brink of a £5m switch to Manchester City which could set in motion a transfer merry-go-round at the Etihad Stadium after Emmanuel Adebayor finally headed for the exit. Sinclair's arrival is likely to signal the end of Adam Johnson's City career, with Liverpool the latest team to register their interest. He is likely to command a fee close to £8m.
  • Danny Welbeck, born locally in Longsight, has expressed his delight at signing a new four-year deal with his boyhood club United, saying: "Playing for United is all I've ever wanted to do - it's the club I've supported all my life."
