Crawley manager Steve Evans has backed the club's board over the sales of star strikers Matt Tubbs and Tyrone Barnett.
Tubbs moved to his hometown club Bournemouth before the transfer deadline and Barnett joined Peterborough on loan with a view to a permanent summer switch earlier this month.
"I was not for selling any of our top players and I made my views clear to the directors that we should keep them," Evans told the club website.
"I did not like the decisions to sell, but I totally respect why they made the decisions they did.
"You only have to consider the state of play at Port Vale and Portsmouth, once again it highlights the issues in football.
"So we should accept the decisions our directors made and concentrate on winning football matches."
