Owner James Brent has stressed Plymouth Argyle will not become complacent in their bid to avoid relegation from the Football League.

The Pilgrims currently sit second from bottom in League Two, one point from safety, and the threat of demotion to non-league football still looms large for the Devon side, who only three years ago harboured ambitions of reaching the Premier League.

However, after directing the Pilgrims towards financial stability following his takeover of the club last October, Brent has insisted Argyle - both on and off the pitch - will stay level-headed and fully focused as the term enters its business end.

"We're not going to believe we're too big to be in the Conference because if we don't win sufficient games that is where we'll go," Brent said. "We will manage the business if that eventuality happens.

"We're being cautious, not because we're aspiring to end up in the Conference but because we're not going to repeat yesterday's mistakes tomorrow."
