Micky Adams is confident that Port Vale's momentum will not be interrupted after their Shrewsbury clash was postponed at the weekend.
Vale would have been searching for a third straight League Two win at the Greenhous Meadow, but a frozen pitch put paid to their chances of building on victories against Rotherham and Plymouth.
Adams' side will hope to resume action against another of their local rivals when Crewe are the visitors on Saturday.
"It is frustrating that the game was called off, but we now go into the Crewe match on the back of two victories," said the Vale boss.
"The players know the stakes - it is a derby, so they don't need reminding of the importance fans place on this game. Motivating the players shouldn't be a problem so the break won't upset us."
