Port Vale boss Micky Adams is delighted with his side's clean sheet at Morecambe and highlighted the performance of defender Joe Davis.
The home side enjoyed the greater share of possession and went close on several occasions but were forced to settle for a goalless draw at the Globe Arena.
Adams said: "I don't really think either team did enough to win the game to be honest and. although they had a lot of possession, our 'keeper didn't really have too many saves to make and we restricted them to very few efforts.
"Joe played a big part in that and I'm delighted for him. He is only a young lad and he made a high-profile mistake in the game against Torquay recently but he was excellent here and gave an excellent display."
Adams also revealed he had met the club's prospective new owner Keith Ryder prior to the game but gave little away as to the future.
He said: "I met Mr Ryder and we had a good chat but there is a long way to go before we know exactly what is happening and it is a case of watch this space the moment."
