Portsmouth's Tal Ben Haim has indicated he hopes to have some news on his future next week as Portsmouth look to get him off the wage bill.

Israeli defender Ben Haim and Liam Lawrence are the only two senior professionals left on the books at Fratton Park as the club look to offload their high earners to avoid the club going under.

Ben Haim was booed throughout by Portsmouth fans during Saturday's friendly win over Bolton with fans fearing the club will go into liquidation if the 30-year-old does not come to an agreement over his contract settlement.

The former Chelsea defender admits talks are ongoing to try and find a resolution and that there could be developments in the next 48 hours.

"We are still talking and hopefully I will have something to tell you by Tuesday," Ben Haim told the Sunday Express.

"There is not much more I can say at the moment. I don't want to say anything that will not be helpful.
