Portsmouth v Peterboro preview

Paul Robinson could make his Portsmouth debut at Fratton Park in the Capital One Cup clash with Peterborough.

The defender, on-loan from Millwall, was an unused substitute in Pompey’s draw with Exeter on Saturday.

Defender Joe Devera is a doubt for the visit of the League One side.

Devera missed the Grecians clash with a tight groin and boss Andy Awford expects him to be ruled out of the squad again on Tuesday evening.

Peterborough have been dealt a blow ahead of the trip to the south coast with the news that Gaby Zakuani is expected to be out for several weeks.

The centre-half suffered a hamstring injury during the weekend win against Rochdale. His absence is likely to see Michael Bostwick move from full-back to central defence, enabling Michael Smith to make his competitive debut at right-back.

Jon Taylor (knee) was also injured at Spotland and he is doubtful. Kenny McEvoy, on loan from Tottenham, would replace him on the left wing.

Kane Ferdinand, Grant McCann and Tyrone Barnett will hope to force their way into manager Darren Ferguson’s plans having started the first game of the season on the bench.
