Newcastle defender Steve Taylor has welcomed the arrival of French striker Loic Remy at St James' Park.
Remy has joined Newcastle on a season-long loan with the player keen to play in the Premier League following Queens Park Rangers' relegation to the Championship.
Taylor believes Remy will prove to be a valuable addition to Alan Pardew's squad this season.
"He adds something different with the pace he has got and the strength he has got," Taylor told Sky Sports News.
"We are delighted he has signed and we are looking forward to seeing him play."
Taylor insists himself and the rest of the Newcastle squad cannot wait for the season opener against Manchester City on Monday 19th August.
"I think us as players have come back in good nick and obviously we are all raring to go," added Taylor.
"All us players want to do is get down to business and when that first game comes along against Manchester City on Monday night we will be raring to go."
