Next month's derby clash between Newcastle and Sunderland will now kick off at St James' Park at 12:45pm following the harrowing scenes witnessed at last year's corresponding fixture.
The game on Saturday was due to start at 3pm on February 1st but the start has been bought forward and will not be broadcast live.
Trouble flared in Newcastle city centre on April 14 last year after the Black Cats shock 3-0 win in the Barclays Premier League at St James'.
The rioting saw 29 arrests made, and a Newcastle fan was caught on a CCTV camera punching a horse.
Barry Rogerson was banned from attending a footballl match for six years and was sentenced to jail for 12 months last October.
