Sam Johnstone needs to leave. His head and his heart are no longer at the Hawthorns. I don’t blame him. His form over the last season and a half has been examplary but I think he’s suffering from the Valrian malaise that’s settling over the club. He’s used to seeing good teams playing proper football in front of him. I know last season was anything but successful but he had Okay, Gallagher, and Pereira pulling the strings. Remember Sam from his vantage point is seeing the game more or less as as we see it. And he is seeing all the incoherence, the lack of anything resembling a proper plan and an absolute inflexibility on the part of the manager. Okay, you’re understandably fed up Sam. So are we all. Sadly, unlike you, we don’t have the option of moving on.

Couldn’t have put it better. Let’s hope we can sell him now rather than lose him in summer. Perhaps he can take Hugill and all the other over 30 and past it players. That would free up some cash for Okay and others. While I’m at it perhaps he can take VI as well!

Not sure I can be so forgiving. Most of this season he has sulked, he’s had terrible body language, a careless attitude, careless kicking etc. Yeah, of course, it’s no fun playing under VI, but he’s just been making it a whole lot worse for those trying to keep us in the race and this week he couldn’t even be bothered to make an easy save for their goal ….. and then he gets himself sent off in the hope that he won’t have to pull on the shirt again. Perhaps he could go back to Man Utd where he’ll clearly fit in …… as their whole team appears to have a very similar attitude.
