It is now looking decidedly bleak for the Grecians, who lie 23rd in the table, but Tisdale insist his players have got what it takes to get out of trouble.
"It's very hard at the moment. We are not benefiting from having a settled side, we are forced into changing it for every game and it is a very difficult time for us," Tisdale said.
"But we won't give up and we will carry on fighting. All is not lost, we have another game at Tranmere on Saturday and we have to be ready to go again.
"What I think the last three games have shown is how important David Noble is to our side. He has his critics, but I think that is ignorance on their part. For me he is the heartbeat of the side and a player we have missed.
"This is not me saying it is all about David Noble though, far from it. James Dunne showed great energy but he also showed a great desire to get the ball which is what we need right now."
