Scunthorpe v MK Dons preview

Friday 13-April-2012 12:30

Scunthorpe striker Connor Jennings is pushing for only his second appearance for the club.

Jennings has only made one substitute appearance since arriving in January from non-league Stalybridge Celtic after breaking a bone in his foot, but returned to the bench for Monday's goalless draw at Carlisle.

Midfielder Damien Mozika remains doubtful due to the ankle injury that kept him out of that game, but winger Mark Duffy is in contention to start after returning to the bench on Monday following suspension.

Striker Jon Parkin, on loan from Cardiff, is also doubtful after suffering a recurrence of a hamstring injury at Carlisle, while midfield pair Michael Collins (Achilles) and Gary Thompson (abductor muscle) remain long-term absentees.

The Iron, eight points above the relegation zone, are looking to extend their unbeaten run to 11 matches and will set a new club record for the number of draws in one season if the points against MK Dons are shared.

Gary MacKenzie is expected to resume in central defence for MK Dons.

MacKenzie, who has recently been nursing a neck injury, was withdrawn as a precautionary measure 11 minutes from the end of the 3-0 home victory over Tranmere on Monday because of the problem.

However, the Scot returned to training on Thursday and should be fit.

Fellow defender Mathias Kouo-Doumbe will remain on the sidelines with a groin injury while Jay O'Shea has had a hamstring problem this week and the midfielder is a doubt.

Defender Tom Flanagan, midfielder Luke Chadwick and Alan Smith, who can be used as either a central midfielder or a striker by manager Karl Robinson, are options.
