Ridsdale: Rebuilding begins now

Thursday 19-April-2012 14:17

Following a difficult start to life under boss Graham Westley, North End have enjoyed a revival of sorts in recent weeks and head into Saturday's League One game at Oldham on a three-match unbeaten run.

A summer of frenzied activity lies ahead, with Westley intent on trimming Preston's oversized first-team squad to around 23 players while simultaneously bringing in new faces.

"We already have our list of target players who we think can be part of a winning team here," Ridsdale told the Lancashire Evening Post. "Now we're at the point of finding out if we can get these players.

"I spent much of Wednesday in London meeting agents as part of our preparations. In the last few weeks and months, Graham and myself have taken in a lot of games.

"On Tuesday we watched two matches - our reserves' 4-0 win over Macclesfield in the afternoon, then we went to see Shrewsbury play Port Vale at night. We've watched games at many levels in order to see a wide range of players."
