Walker shelves retirement plans

Monday 07-May-2012 12:48

The 38-year-old will discuss his future with Saddlers boss Dean Smith after returning for the final two games of the season to help the club secure their League One status.

Walker made his 534th appearance for the club last weekend and has been instrumental in the development of fellow keeper David Grof.

"I really would miss it. I'd love to stay and see if I could help next year," he told the Express & Star.

"It's been a hard season and I've come in after games and thrown things, kicked things and had tantrums but as long as there's life left, which I feel there is, I'd like to continue.

"I'm sitting down with the gaffer [on Tuesday] so I'll have a chat with him and see what the future holds but at the minute I would miss it too much."
