First-half goals from Lee Novak and Jordan Rhodes put the Yorkshire club on the road to what Grayson's hopes will be a memorable finish to the campaign.
"I said to the players before the game that we had 10 cup finals between now and the end of the season and let's try and win all 10," Grayson said. "We've won here and now we've got nine big ones coming up. There are still a lot of points to be won and dropped by a lot of teams so we are certainly in the mix for it.
"I knew this would be a tough game because Chesterfield are fighting for their lives but we've come out with a clean sheet and three points.
"They were two great goals and on another night we could have had a few more but credit to Chesterfield, they caused us a few problems - but we kept a real steady ship at the back.
"The players are learning how to see games off and if we have to bore people in the last five or 10 minutes of games when we are in front, then so be it."
