O's chief gets behind Slade

Thursday 12-April-2012 10:53

Orient have lost four games in a row to fall to 20th place, only four points clear of the bottom four with four games remaining.

Wycombe, who stand in 21st and in the last relegation place, pose the only serious threat to Orient, given third-bottom Exeter are a further four points adrift.

Hearn accepts the danger is real but is convinced Slade is the man to guide the London club to safety.

Asked whether Slade remained the right man for Orient now, Hearn said: "Yes, and going forward. He's a good man. You don't forget (what people have done in the past).

"But we're struggling. They're going through the motions because it's the end of the season. One more win and we're safe. It's a funny thing - winning and losing are both habits."
