O'Kelly, who took over from Jamie Pitman earlier in the week, saw the on-loan Bournemouth man produce a fine volley to earn his side what could be a vital three points in their quest to stay in the Football League.
He said: "I've only been here a few days, but I've seen enough to suggest we have a decent side here. It was clear when I got here that there's a great team spirit and when you have that you always have a chance of having a decent side.
"I'm pleased for Lyle and pleased for the lads. He scored a great goal and showed some quality with his finish and although he's young he's a player with great potential.
"His loan spell is up now, but I hope we can do something to extend it. We're in talks already with Bournemouth to do something and I hope we can get something sorted out.
"He'll get the headlines, but we had some experienced lads out there who helped see us through. We were under a lot of pressure in the second half, but people like Kenny Lunt held things together and I thought our defence were excellent."
