Delroy Facey put the Bulls ahead at Underhill but fellow strugglers Barnet snatched a 1-1 draw and a vital point thanks to Ben May's equaliser.
The Bees maintained their three-point cushion over Hereford - and the League Two relegation zone - while the prospect of Conference football now looms large over O'Kelly's men despite moving above bottom club Macclesfield.
But O'Kelly said: "You keep on fighting - there are nine points to play for - you keep on going.
"You don't throw the towel in, the group of players and the supporters are still out there fighting so why not.
"But I think it was important to win, from Barnet's point of view it was more important not to lose but we needed to win the game."
