Walsall will be without Anton Peterlin and Richard Taundry.

Midfielder Peterlin has picked up an ankle injury in training while full-back Taundry is struggling with a recurrence of a hamstring strain, which is also now providing discomfort in his back.

Manager Dean Smith has no other injury or suspension concerns as the Saddlers look for a victory which would go a long way to securing their League One status.

Walsall, unbeaten at home since late January, are currently four points clear of the drop zone.

Smith could well name an unchanged starting line-up for a third successive match having kept faith with the same XI for both games over the Easter period, a 3-2 win over Chesterfield and a valiant 1-0 defeat at leaders Charlton.

Ronnie Moore blasted Tranmere's "schoolboy" defending in the 3-0 defeat to MK Dons but his players will have a chance to redeem themselves when they travel to Walsall.

The Rovers boss has been boosted by the recent return to fitness of midfielder Martin Devaney (hamstring), striker Adam McGurk (broken cheekbone) and defender Mark McChrystal (hernia).

All three were left out of the squad for the Dons defeat but James Wallace, on loan from Everton, completed the full 90 minutes in midfield for the second game running to cement his return from a hamstring injury.

Despite having little to play for but pride, Moore is determined to end the season on a high. He told the club's official website: "We want to finish as high as we can. We said we wanted to get to 50 points, we've got 51 and now I'd like to get to 60."
