So QPR legend Kevin Gallen thinks Kenny would be ideal for QPR manager.

And Kevins brother is our number two Joe Gallen. Who I presume would know nothing of his brothers feeing that he and his boss would be ideal back down south?

This stinks. I heard rumours Kenny, Joe and Jez for that matter aren’t particularly happy at the moment.

If you don’t like it chaps the all of you do one, because we don’t want any of the three of you think you are doing us a favour by being here.

We were here before all of you came and we will be here when you have gone….

If any of that is true Vinniw I am with you but the operative word is IF !

Which bit do you doubt is true? Its a fact Kevin Gallen has made noises, its a fact that he is Joe Gallens brother and its a fact Joe Gallen is assistant to Jackett at Wolves?

What I don’t believe is true is that either QPR or KJ are interested in KJ going to QPR. I have no idea what Gallen’s brother is up to but it might be something to do with his boss being sacked and worrying whether he will be losing his job.

Hold on watford. Put yourself in Moxeys shoes. Your employee, who is on circa £200k pa, has a brother, also involved in football, who is recommending a member of your staff, and by implication your first team manager, for another job?

I am not alone in thinking that this stinks.

Read the BBC sport page. Kenny has had to deny it.

To be fair Vinni whilst this did look bad but I think its more that Kevin Gallen is a bit of a loud mouth rather than anything coming from Kenny. Looks like Joe got the brains of that family!

Also funny cause Kevin couldn’t be more wrong! I mean if Kenny can’t live up to the (self imposed) playoffs expectations at our place; then whats he gonna be like when the Hoops fans expect an ageing/average team to be smashing the League?!

The only truth that I do see in this is that Kenny is a London boy and always has/will be, even with that in mind do you think the QPR fans would really be happy with this?! Especially as some of our more recently abject performances are getting increasing media attention.

All that said I would not be surprised if Kenny walks this summer and goes to a smaller London club, could easily see him leading a League One promotion charge at a Brentford or Orient this time next year cause (harsh as it is) that quite simply is KJ’s level.

A bit of an assumption dick in your first paragraph. You are giving them all the benefit of the doubt. I am dealing in what was said. You give these guys too much credit. They all talk to each other and they all want to stay on the merry go round that is professional soccer management. Get a new contract at a new club before you have been sacked from the old one is a well trodden and successful strategy.

I think it is well known within ‘the game’ that Jackett has done well at Wolves – well until Morgan clipped his wings with a) Cash and b) The no experience/must have young and hungry policy that has ruined our chances this season.

I think Jackett will think he has done his time here ‘up north’ and the sooner he can get back down south the better. I doubt he has sold his St Albans home and his wife might be missing the Outer London life.

Not quite the same in the Mander Centre is it?

Vinniw I think your assumptions are just as speculative as Dick’s and as for your sense of geography the difference between travelling to Wolves from St Albans to rush hour traffic to get to Shepherds Bush is marginal at best. Mrs J no doubt shops in London or Watford now , hubby moving jobs wont change anything.

watford, what are my assumptions? And would your missus drive to Wolverhampton for the shopping/cafe culture?

I think my point is that the Jackets live in St Albans. The commute for Mr Jacket is to Wolves QPR would not be significantly be any different because of the traffic. As for Mrs Jacket like any woman she will shop where she wants to which for most St Albans ladies will be Watford or London. The whole saga is a non story. It is wild speculation which you are just adding to.

To be fair watford you are now adding to it as well.

I will ask again. What exactly are the assumptions I have made?

By the way – the Jacketts live in Wolverhampton at the moment. All of them. In Codsall.

I stand corrected that of course makes all the difference , I expect KJ to appointed immediately. You started this thread and by doing it you are giving this rumour credence. Do you actually believe this ?

Vinni speculative would be tying a man to a job when on most/all betting websites he is not even in the top 40 candidates! In fact the only place I found him was on Skybet number 47 on the list at 42-1! To put this into perspective Glenn Hoddle was 30-1!!

Also I just don’t think the QPR fans would be convinced, most groaned when Warnock got interim manager role and that there is a manager thats previously got that actual club promoted! KJ may be respected in the game but barring Kevin Gallen I just can’t see ANYONE else crying out for Jackett to head to QPR?! Also when your clubs stating all they care about is promotion why would you employ a man that spent most his time at this level but hasn’t got anyone promoted from this league?!

None of it adds up, like Watford said the only speculation on this story seems to be this thread! Time will tell 😉

Gents, you are both missing my point. I don’t think Jackett will be QPR manager and I haven’t said that he will be!

The point of my posts here is that our managers number two has a brother advocating in the press that he takes another job. And I don’t think he would be doing that without Joe Gallen being aware, or even Kenny for that matter.

I think it would be true to say our manager is looking for an opportunity.

Vinniw your last post suggests you do think KJ does want to go to QPR. He has publically denied this so why believe the brother of his deputy ?

Not sure Vinni I still put the Kevin Gallen thing down to the guy being a big mouth (which for me he has always come across as).

That a side I have to say that I would be genuinely shocked if Kenny wasn’t weighing up/ looking for other opportunities, I mean why wouldn’t he?!

He’s in a position where he knows that he’s unlikely to have any transfer funds anytime soon, then add to this that he is also in a position where he knows that at ANY moment a new consortium could come in for the club. These consortium often have a football face attached to them that they want as manager.

Essentially what I am saying is that you have to see this from both sides, Morgans putting the club on the market made KJ long term job security very much up in the air so why wouldn’t he be checking his options?!

Put it in any other scenario and when a business starts to struggle staff start to look around, think this is one of the few times footy is like other business. This could of course cause us REAL problems in the future but right now its all if and buts.

And now the links get stronger.

Jackett to QPR, Afobe to Newcastle, Norwich or Villa and watford wolf still wont believe whats in front of his nose.

To be honest I don’t think the link to QPR is in anyway stronger in London, where all signs point to a imminent announcement of Jimmy Floyd arriving! Hell from the sound of it most Hoops fans would (sensibly) sooner keep Warnock on! No, its in the midlands ONLY where it seems the E & S are still deluding itself that someone would be interested in the ever more confused KJ!

To be honest at this stage I kind of wish they would take him, it might snap the club out of the coma we seem to be slipping in to; of mid-table dreariness! I just despair with Kenny these days to be honest! Three years and still not a single player on that pitch looks like they have the first idea how they are supposed to be playing?! Seriously I think had you asked the (small) crowd at the Mol on saturday after the match then they would have had a wip round to cover Jackets cab to London on the previso he takes Thelwell with him!

Also I do wonder how come RVLP can’t get a look in at our place but is wanted by top of the table?! Add to this your point Vinni of transfers was yet again smashed home this wkend: Coady on the bench not good enough to play; Bryne on the bench not good enough to play; AFL looks to have the fundamentals but (for me) is carrying about an extra stone than he should which is why he’s SO slow around the pitch and lord only knows where Holt is?!

I mean seriously in the last two years barring loans we have ONLY added Benik to the ACTUAL first team!! Even with the pennies we have spent that is SHAMEFUL!! I see Brighton also signed a lad from the Irish league,24 and scored 25 goals last season! Remember the days when we used to find players like that! So sick of this backroom team ! ;(
