Rochdale caretaker manager Chris Beech says he should have been celebrating a win after Tuesday's goalless draw with Tranmere.

Dale bounced back impressively from Saturday's 5-1 mauling at the hands of Stevenage to dominate the first half hour at Prenton Park, but were indebted to goalkeeper Peter Kurucz and some dogged defending as Rovers pushed for victory late on.

"I think we should have taken the three points," Beech said. "I know Peter has made a great save on the second ball from a set play, but we broke through Tranmere a few times and didn't really hit the target.

"When we did it was blocked on the line or the goalkeeper did what he gets paid for and he made the saves.

"It was an excellent performance and again we've not got what we deserved.

"That's my fifth game. Out of the five games I'd say three of the games, we've been dominant in and not got our just rewards in terms of nine points. We've actually got three points from them."
