Rochdale have confirmed Matty Pearson has agreed terms with the club following a successful trial at Spotland.
The 18-year-old defender has signed a one-year deal after impressing on a four-week trial.
The former Blackburn youngster made the trip to Austria with the first-team squad for the pre-season camp and has featured in all three of Dale's friendly matches so far after being given opportunities against Radcliffe Borough, Blackburn and Hull.
Manager John Coleman is yet to make a final decision on fellow trialists Ian Craney, Danny Johnson and Ray Putterill.
All three are likely to feature against Marine FC on Tuesday evening.
