Rochdale were the better side in their 1-1 FA Cup first-round draw at the Globe Arena, according to Dale boss John Coleman.
Coleman's side found Morecambe keeper Barry Roche in inspired form as the shotstopper kept out Ryan Edwards' header with a superb full-stretch save and denied Bobby Grant on a number of occasions.
It took until the 72nd minute before Jason Kennedy eventually beat Roche to cancel out Andy Fleming's opener and set up a replay.
A frustrated Coleman said: "I think if anyone was going to win the game it was us.
"It took us about 20 minutes to get going but once we did I thought we were outstanding. Their goalkeeper was man of the match and that says it all really but our keeper has had to make a couple of saves as well because they looked pretty sharp on the counter-attack as well and had a few chances at the end.
"We will have to take the replay and we know it won't be easy but it's good to be in the hat for the draw and still be in the competition."
