Rotherham boss Steve Evans is continuing his quest to bring in a winger and is still in talks with an unnamed transfer target.

Evans ruled out moves for Lionel Ainsworth or Ashley Vincent this week despite the Millers' initial interest, but talks are ongoing with another winger who has been given permission to discuss personal terms.

"He has another year on his deal, but [Rotherham chief operating officer] Paul Douglas said that we had permission to speak to him, so we seized the opportunity," Evans told Rotherham's official website.

"We're talking numbers, the boy wants to join us - he told me that over the weekend. He's a good player, I would like to get him here and I have done my bit as much as I can in terms of selling the dream of playing here.

"He's excited about what we're doing here, but like all of us he has bills to play, mortgages to pay and mouths to feed, so from that point of view the deal has to be right for him and he has others talking to him as well. How close we get in the next 48 hours will be interesting."
