Scunthorpe manager Alan Knill has revealed new signing Mike Grella turned down several other clubs to move to Glanford Park.

Former Leeds forward Grella, 25, who spent short spells at Brentford and Bury last season, completed his move to the club on Monday.

"I've been really impressed with his attitude ever since I met him," Knill told the club's official website.

"He's been asking what we can do for him to make him a better player and how we plan to take him to where he thinks he should be.

"There were some other clubs interested in signing him, but thankfully he's decided to join us, which is really pleasing and now it's our job to help him improve.

"He's technically very good and when the opportunity came up, we were delighted that he chose to come here and I'm really looking forward to working with him."
