Scunthorpe v Oxford Utd preview

League Two leaders Scunthorpe could shuffle their pack when they host Oxford.

A late equaliser from Morecambe on Good Friday left the Iron two points clear of the chasing pack at the top of the table and boss Russ Wilcox has no fresh injury worries as they look to move a step closer to playing League One football next season.

Dean Burton and Paul Hayes, both introduced as second-half substitutes, will hope to be given the nod from the start against the U’s.

Midfielder Sean McAllister (rib) and winger Gary McSheffrey (hamstring) both look set to miss out once more through injury.

Oxford have no fresh injury worries as they look to bounce back from their Good Friday defeat to York when they tackle Scunthorpe.

The U’s were without striker Deane Smalley as they lost 1-0 to the Minstermen and the frontman looks set to miss out once more with a calf strain which has kept him out since April 5.

Head coach Gary Waddock, who says his side will be positive as they search for three points they need to keep their play off dream alive, named an unchanged line-up for the first time in 24 games but he could shuffle his pack against the Iron.

Alfie Potter and David Connolly could both come into the starting XI for the U’s.
