Crawley have denied they have offered the vacant manager's job at Broadfield Stadium to Paul Dickov or John Pemberton.

Both Oldham manager Dickov and Sheffield United academy boss Pemberton have been linked with the post recently vacated by Sean O'Driscoll, but Crawley have revealed they are still working on filling the post.

A statement on the club's official website read: "With regard to the appointment of a new first team manager, the club is continuing to work diligently to identify the person we feel can take the club forward as we prepare for the challenge of League One football.

"Contrary to media reports, the post has not been offered to Paul Dickov or John Pemberton.

"In the meantime, we are delighted with the work being done by Steve Coppell and Craig Brewster during pre-season and they will continue to look after first-team affairs until an appointment is made."
