Sheffield Wednesday manager Gary Megson is hopeful of extending the loan of central defender Miguel Llera.
The 32-year-old Spaniard joined the Owls from parent club Blackpool in November, and Megson is hopeful another deal can be struck after his original agreement ended on January 3.
It is possible Llera could make a move similar to that of goalkeeper Stephen Bywater, who was released by Derby following a loan spell at Wednesday and signed on a contract to the end of the season.
"In the last two games he's (Llera) done really well for us," Megson told the Star.
"I think Miguel wants to get himself under contract somewhere and he seems to think he's going to be able to get a free transfer from Blackpool.
"I've recommended to (vice-chairman) Paul Aldridge and (chairman) Milan Mandaric that we try to get it done."
