Sheffield Wednesday chairman Milan Mandaric and manager Dave Jones have dedicated promotion to the Championship to the club's fans.

More than 7,000 Owls supporters gathered in the city centre on Wednesday for Sheffield City Council's civic reception when Wednesday were presented with the League One runners-up trophy.

Mandaric said: "On behalf of all of us at Sheffield Wednesday - directors, the manager, the players and employees - we would like to say from the bottom of our hearts, thank you."

Jones, who won 10 of his 12 matches in charge and drew the other two since replacing the sacked Gary Megson at the beginning of March, described the fans as "something else".

He said: "We've got to enjoy these times because sometimes they don't come around as often as you would like.

"The fans have been absolutely fantastic. In this rain, to see all the families out there wishing us well is something else."
